Waratah introduces new harvesting heads |
|
Waratah is introducing the following heads: H480, HTH616C, and the HTH624C.
Waratah’s
H480 is an excellent clear felling or thinning tool that utilizes the
great traction that this four-wheel-drive harvester head is known for
around the world. It has a compact, robust head designed for
medium-to-large tracked and wheeled machines. When coupled to Waratah’s
MTH (multi tree handling) kit the H480 can provide much-increased
productivity in small low value timber stands.
Waratah’s
HTH616C is a compact, smaller version of our 622B and is highly
efficient in small to medium size hardwood and softwood applications.
Designed for 20- to 22-ton track-based machines, the HTH616C is nimble
at the end of the stick and provides quick cycle times whether
processing roadside or harvesting at the stump.
The HTH616C
shares the same great features found on Waratah’s largest
harvesting/processing heads, proving its game for the most demanding
applications. A double-tilt stop to reduce frame stress and increase
frame life improves the HTH616C’s ability to withstand high downward
and lateral forces, and its proven rotator design (same as the 622B and
624C) can tackle the most difficult applications even when attached to
higher horse-powered carriers.
Other notable features of the
HTH616C include improved valve access and serviceability, reduction of
the surface area of hoses exposed (to decrease the number and frequency
of hose changes), a fixed top knife for low maintenance, a single upper
delimb 2½-inch cylinder, improved cylinder seals with higher
temperature ratings, a saw box designed for butt flare and low stump
height, and a motor position designed for maximum cutting diameter.
The
HTH624C is a lean and mean version of the industry renowned 624 model.
A new valve design has higher flow characteristics with a lower
pressure drop providing increase oil flow to all major functions and
better multi functioning of the head. A new saw box design allows
easier handling of flared butts, and choice of either a ¾ 11Bc saw unit
or a Hultdins SC 100 supercut .404 saw unit allows the greatest of
flexibility. The topping saw on the 624C is larger and the net cut has
been increased to 21 inches (52.5cm). Easier accessibility of all
service components, and superior hose routing and cover access further
enhance this new model. A fixed wrist option is also available for the
HTH624C. This feature replaces the standard hanging bracket and rotator
and provides additional fixed control for those customers looking for
increased handling of larger stems, a reduced learning curve for new
operators, and increased piling ability.
The TimberRite
measuring and electrical system provides the operator and machine owner
with the highest log making options and value recovery and provides
both diagnostics and a host of information available for length,
diameter, and overall volume calculations. Fully expandable, TimberRite
also is available with optimization packages and operator worksite
statistics all downloadable onto a quick and easy memory stick.
